Bumbling Obama and Hillary Stand Against America First

By Raymond Shipley

Barack Obama isn't happy with the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency. It would seem just the idea alone is enough to turn him into a stuttering, bumbling fool.

"If we turn against each other based on division of race or religion. If-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if-if we fall for, you know, a bunch of okie-doke, just because, you know it-it-it. You know, it-it-it-it-it-it sounds funny or the tweets are provocative."

Very articulate. I'm not really sure what was written in his notes, or if the teleprompter was off, but if Obama is attempting to convince voters hitherto less than excited about his legacy not to vote for the Donald, I'm thinking he should have chosen a different approach.

That Obama speaks of division after hosting Black Lives Matter, claiming Trayvon Martin would look like his son and admitting his Attorney General to allow race to decide whether to prosecute certain cases is an absolute laugh. The people of the United States of America voted you in, Mr. Obama. Not black people, white people or anyone other than the American people. What we've received in return has been a far cry from the unity you'd have us believe.

This all comes at a time Hillary Clinton is desperate in her campaign against Trump. Clinton's husband has proven to be no kryptonite to the Donald, and it is likely Obama will merely serve to embolden an already fed up populace to vote against the likely DNC nominee. The establishment has failed the people long enough that peaceful revolution at the ballot box is all but an inevitability.

So, what's Hillary's new attack position now that Trump's record with women has blown up in her face? Apparently he will be dangerous for our foreign policy. Nevermind he wasn't responsible for the Iraq war, creation of ISIS, Libya, Benghazi or any of the other foreign policy debacles in the past two decades. In fact, it is Trump that wishes to strengthen our military while taking steps back from our myriad military obligations the world over. It seems committing our troops to protecting South Korea and Japan in perpetuity, two nations more than capable of their own defense, against North Korea without compensation is less risky than pursuing a policy that allows more autonomy for our allies. Additionally, spending a fortune keeping our troops in Western Europe defending against a communist enemy that hasn't existed since the 1990s is sound foreign policy, and downgrading our involvement in NATO will somehow lead us into armed conflict against...well, someone, I'm sure. And certainly, acting as a neutral peace negotiator in the middle east will insult our one ally in the region (Israel) and embolden the Palestinians and Arabs to take up arms against us. You know, because Israel wasn't responsible for the Lavon Affair, USS Liberty and Jonathan Pollard while the Palestinians and Arabs don't already feel as if we are an enemy.

The old Chinese proverb “Insanity is doing the same thing in the same way & expecting a different outcome” has seemingly been forgotten by Obama, Clinton, the DNC and the neocons. Whether a Trump presidency is the answer remains an unknown; however, doing the same thing in the same way will inevitably lead to the same outcome. Of that we can be sure.
